GNUnify just concluded this weekend. It was a pretty decent event with people like David Axmark and Brian Behlendorf coming down to give us company. I couldnt attend most of the sessions because of work and the programming course I am taking.
My talk was very well received and attended, with some people having to miss out. I'll put up the slides of my talk on my site soon, since the event website doesnt seem to have that facility. My talk was an introductory one of C++/Qt with a couple of code demos to explain the basic concepts.
You can get a glimpse of the event at Sankarshan's blog. I'm too lazy to write about it.
Yesterday I had a sudden urge to go back to using the wmx window manager. There is something very charming about using a window manager you can hack. And thats precisely what I got down to doing yesterday night. I have a added the plumbing feature borrowed from Plan 9. A few things I want to add more -
1. A small notification window that displays WM alerts that are set by clients (this is going to be a lot of work), or maybe a system tray. Thats going to be a lot of work though.
2. Change the window cycling policy (this should be comparatively easier).
3. Change a few more keybindings so that the window manager doesn't interfere with the working of my favourite apps.
